Like all Vignettes in The Age of Decadence, this is essentially linear; it is simply the sequence of events which delivers The Map into the hands of a specific character-type (in this case, the Loremaster).
Lore[ | ]
As a child, you loved listening to stories about the old days, filled with gods fighting alongside men, power-wielding magi - more demigods than human, and monsters conjured by the cowardly Qantari. . . .
Master Feng is looking for you.

Tips[ | ]
- Before you speak to Feng, be sure to examine the contents of the back room:
- Either one of the Documents will immediately add 10 SP to Lore (the second one will do nothing).
- If your Perception is at least 8, the Boxes will add 10 SP to Lockpick.
- The other objects (Chest, Desk, Goblet, Junk) simply provide hints as to Feng's academic interests and professional integrity; they contain nothing to add to your Inventory or Skills.
- This is the only opportunity to start Prospector's Amulet:
- Accepting it doesn't interfere with your current task in any way - and even at your most shrewd there's no way you can afford the Item until later - but it is worth checking ahead, in case you want to start with the skill necessary for a preferred outcome.
